Pendergraft Construction is based in Guntersville, Alabama, giving us an excellent central location to serve communities throughout North Alabama. The majority of our projects are in Guntersville and Marshall County, Huntsville and Madison County, Jackson County, and Blount County, but our work isn't limited to those areas. We've completed projects across Alabama, from the Birmingham area all the way to Gulf Shores, and have even traveled across state lines for projects in Tennessee. North Alabama is home and where you'll find most of our work, but we're willing to travel for the right project. Yes. We believe both parties should know exactly what they're agreeing to before construction begins. Our proposals and contracts clearly identify the work we're providing and the agreed price so expectations are established from the beginning.

Every project is different. Pricing is based on the scope of work, labor, materials, site conditions, project complexity, and other requirements specific to your job. We focus on providing realistic pricing for completing the work properly rather than simply trying to provide the lowest number.

The price in your contract covers the work specifically included in the agreed scope. You won't receive surprise charges for work already included in your agreement. Additional costs may occur if you request changes or additions, select upgrades beyond an established allowance, or unforeseen conditions require work outside the original scope. Any changes are addressed before the additional work proceeds whenever reasonably possible.

Changes happen, and we're happy to discuss them. If you decide to add, remove, upgrade, or modify work after the project begins, we'll determine how the change affects the price and schedule. Significant changes may be documented through a written change order.

Most projects require a deposit before scheduling or construction begins. Additional progress payments may also be required depending on the size and duration of the project. Your specific payment schedule will be clearly stated in your contract.

Whenever possible, we aim to begin construction within two weeks of signing your contract and receiving the required deposit. We get to work right away behind the scenes, coordinating materials, labor, permits, dumpsters, equipment, and scheduling, so everything is ready when construction begins.

Project timelines vary depending on the scope. A roof replacement may take only a few days, while a major renovation or custom home can take months. We'll provide realistic expectations and keep you informed as your project progresses.

Construction doesn't always happen under perfect conditions. Weather, inspections, material availability, utility work, and other circumstances outside our control can occasionally affect the schedule. When delays occur, our goal is simple: communicate with you and keep the project moving forward as efficiently as possible.

You're not hiring just one builder, you have an entire company behind your project. Every project has a designated manager who serves as your primary point of contact, backed by a team of construction and office professionals ready to assist whenever needed.

Absolutely. Depending on your project, you'll have opportunities to select items such as flooring, paint colors, countertops, tile, fixtures, roofing, siding, and other finishes. Some contracts may include allowances for items that haven't been selected when the agreement is prepared.

In most cases, we do. As your builder, part of our job is making sure the right materials, quantities, and specifications are ordered and delivered when they're needed. It keeps the project running smoothly and allows us to stand behind the materials we use. Of course, you'll still have plenty of input. Customers typically choose the finishes that make the project their own, things like flooring, countertops, tile, fixtures, colors, and other design selections. If you'd like to provide a particular item yourself, just let us know and we'll discuss it with you.

Yes. As a licensed building company, we're experienced with local permitting and inspection requirements. We handle the process for you, including permit applications, required licensing, coordination with building departments, and scheduling inspections throughout construction.

We believe a quality construction job includes taking care of the jobsite. Our crews routinely clean up throughout the project, and we coordinate dumpsters and debris removal as needed. We also make reasonable efforts to protect your home and property during construction and leave the jobsite clean, safe, and ready for you to enjoy when we're finished.

Yes. Pendergraft Construction is a licensed Home Builder and General Contractor, and we carry both general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Not every contractor carries the same licensing or insurance coverage. These protections are an important part of operating a professional construction company and help protect our customers, our employees, and the projects we're trusted to complete. Proper licensing, insurance, permitting, and professional business practices aren't extras, they're part of doing the job right.

Absolutely. We stand behind our work and offer a strong workmanship warranty because our responsibility to our customers doesn't end the day construction is finished. We've built our reputation by providing quality construction, standing behind the work we perform, and being there for our customers when they need us. Specific warranty coverage can vary depending on the type of work and materials involved, and many products may also carry separate manufacturer warranties.

We'll complete a final walkthrough with you to review the finished work and address any remaining items. Once the project is complete, we'll provide a Certificate of Completion, finalize the project documentation, and close out the job. And if you need us again down the road, we'll be here.
